Welcome to
the James Nayler Foundation
Child terrors persist because the sufferer is too terrified to see they’re now OVER.
Welcome to the charity which takes it for granted that all mental pain arises from obsolete childhood trauma which everyone else knows are now over – once the sufferer sees this, they go.
The model is simple — children growing up require a sound parental attachment. Where this attachment is robust, damage from childhood trauma is ephemeral — where it is not, then the long term effects of trauma closely resemble those of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
In effect, the individual becomes ‘frozen’ at an infantile stage – such that survival strategies painfully and deeply learnt in infancy continue unabated, and essentially unseen and therefore unthought through, into adult life. Trustworthy adult support is needed to facilitate adult reasoning so that the truth about today’s reality can be established. Once adult survival strategies are in place, and being fully relied upon, then all symptoms of disorderly socialisation evaporate. – – -
